Tech Mahindra to Establish Global Capability Center for Goodyear in Hyderabad
Tech Mahindra is set to establish a Global Capability Center (GCC) for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Hyderabad. This move will significantly enhance Goodyear’s research and development (R&D) and IT operations, creating around 3,000 jobs in the region.
The new GCC aligns with Tech Mahindra’s Project Fortius, a three-year turnaround strategy aimed at improving operating margins, boosting revenue growth, and optimizing business operations. By securing this deal, Tech Mahindra continues to strengthen its presence in high-value digital transformation projects.
Hyderabad: A Rising GCC Hub
Hyderabad is rapidly becoming a preferred destination for Global Capability Centers due to its skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and favorable business policies. Several multinational corporations, including Infosys, TCS, and Wipro, have set up GCCs in the city, making it a key IT hub in India.
Recently, Infosys partnered with Lufthansa to establish a GCC, as part of an IT contract worth $300 million. The increasing adoption of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) models in outsourcing contracts further highlights India’s growing dominance in IT and business operations management.
Strategic Impact of the Initiative
For Tech Mahindra, this partnership with Goodyear is a strategic win that strengthens its capabilities in digital transformation and IT services. For Goodyear, the new GCC provides cost efficiencies, specialized talent access, and faster digital adoption.
While the long-term transition strategy for this GCC remains unclear, this collaboration underscores India’s role as a global IT hub.
